In Delhi, a monologue on womanhood by Kalki Koechlin

Through her monologue the acclaimed actress will be igniting a discourse on various issues related to gender empowerment.

New Delhi: Popular Bollywood actor Kalki Koechlin, widely acclaimed for her bold stances on feminism commitment towards women’s rights and gender equality will be presenting a theatrical monologue titled ‘wo-manologue’ in New Delhi.

Kalki will perform at an event being hosted by Young FICCI ladies Organisation (YFLO) on September 12, 2016 at Federation House in New Delhi.

Trupti Gupta, Chairperson, Young FICCI Ladies Organising (YFLO), said that she would be talking about feminism, gender war, society, men, girl child and women empowerment. “Kalki Koechlin, known for being a feminist and a versatile actor, is equally popular as a theatrical monologue artist. During her ‘Womanologue’ she will be talking about day to day problems faced by women,” she said.

Gupta elaborated that Kalki is committed to supporting women's rights and is vocal about gender discrimination. “She has spoken out against sexual abuse of children and has lent her support to various social campaigns working in the field of women's rights and the girl child. In this regard, she has written and performed 'An Intense piece about the Truths of Womanhood', an ode to women bound by patriarchy,” she said.

Her spoken word piece The Printing Machine circa 201' is about the numbing nature in which news of violence against women is both generated and consumed and the video became hugely popular on the internet.

Recently actress Kalki Koechlin, one of the few actresses who have broken the conventional rules, went on a biking trip to the Northeast with her father. During her adventure trip, she travelled across three states, and covered 4,000 km.
