Honda conducts road safety awareness campaign for students

More than 2000 youngsters of capital take #TheSafetyPromise with Honda.

New Delhi: February 22, 2019: Committed to promote road safety in India as its corporate social responsibility, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. took forward its nationwide Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Shaheed Rajguru College, New Delhi.

This is the second college in the capital where Honda is fostering its safe riding habits amongst youth to lay the path for safer tomorrow.

During the 3-day event, from Feb 20-22, Honda spread safety awareness to over 2000 college students and adults under the motto of ‘Safety for Everyone.’

Road safety is a global priority for Honda. Through this campaign, Honda aims to cover more than 15,000 young college students and adults of 10 colleges across cities every month.

After the start of Honda 2Wheelers India’s road safety campaign, Honda has educated over 30,000 students and adults of 17 colleges across India so far.

Speaking on this initiative, Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President - Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, "Over 1.47* lakh people lose their lives in road accidents every year in India. As a responsible two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda is fully committed towards road safety and through this National Road Safety Awareness Campaign, we aim to foster the right safety habits amongst young riders to make Indian roads safer for riding.”

Through this mega campaign, young college students are now learning through fun and taking #TheSafetyPromise with Honda. The overall response of the campaigns conducted so far has been remarkable and has encouraged the college going students to foster safe riding habits.

Making learning on the serious topic of road safety more fun-oriented, Honda had different activities for all.

·To spread road safety awareness, safety riding theory sessions on correct riding posture, traffic signs and road rules were conducted for students.

·A special training activity on virtual riding simulator was executed for all to experience over 100 possible dangers on road before actual riding.

·Riders tested their riding skills through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks.

·Female safety riding session was exclusively conducted for women. Here, Honda’s female instructors empowered the females on riding a two-wheeler and knowledge of road safety rules.

·Above all this, Honda also conducted fun educational activities like road safety games and quizzes on daily basis so that participants have fun learning about safe riding too.
